Jack of all trades, master of (n)one, Derrick Taylor is on a journey of lifelong learning and teaching in equal measure. A brown sash in kung fu, a lifetime of computer building and programming, a robust photography portfolio contrasted with a very modest set of musical compositions, experience with Makerspaces across the country, self-taught videography skills, a bachelors in physics and a masters in mathematics education. Derrick spent the better part of a decade teaching in Title 1 schools, feeding into his current passion: making educational YouTube videos, distributed for free, forever. Derrick feels very personally the joy of learning, and wishes to share that joy with as many as want to experience it. Everything learned enriches one’s experience with the world, and the world is so very rich. Dig deeply enough into anything and you’ll find math, and so mathematical literacy can make every exploration faster and fuller.
